This session concerns how material, product design, and manufacturing provide improvement towards sustainability. The presentation will address advanced manufacturing techniques, newer materials that are nontoxic, and syntheses using benign methods. In addition, methods and techniques for sustainability applications and evaluation of manufacturing processes will be covered including the applications of 6Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle, recover, redesign and remanufacture).
