CMTP Workshop: Strategies to Advance Carbon Capture

At the workshop, participants will share perspectives on priority needs to advance and deploy carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS), and strategies to meet these needs.  The workshop will be held in Washington D.C. and will be attended by approximately 30 invited international leaders in CCUS from industry, government, academia, professional societies and NGOs.

The Carbon Management Technology Project is a joint initiative of engineering Founder Societies: AIChE, ASME, AIME (AIST, SPE, TMS, SME), IEEE, and ASCE. With the belief that it is the responsibility of engineers and engineering professionals to respond to the global challenge of addressing worldwide greenhouse gas emissions, these societies joined together to face challenges posed by developing and implementing Technologies for Carbon Management. The project initiated the biennial the Carbon Management Technology Conference which was last held in 2017 with participants from 16 countries and a focus on CCUS, and is being planned to be held next in 2019.
