Site Visit to NRG's Petra Nova CCUS Demonstration Project

Petra Nova, a 50/50 joint venture between NRG and JX Nippon Oil Exploration (U.S.A.) Limited, is developing a commercial-scale post-combustion carbon capture project at NRG's WA Parish generating station southwest of Houston, Texas. For more information, please visit their website.

Prior to the tour, representatives from NRG will give an overview of the Petra Nova Demonstration Project. Following this introduction, buses will be provided to the site. Please note that as this is an active construction site, attendees will not be permitted to leave the bus. After attendees return to the hotel, there will be a Plenary Panel with Mauricio Gutierrez, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, NRG Energy and Julio Friedmann, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, U.S. DOE Office of Fossil Energy.

Following this plenary panel will be a panel discussion with the Petra Nova team:
