There is a nexus, or close connection, between energy and water, as we saw in Summer 2011 in Texas.. It typically takes a significant amount of water to generate energy and when those supplies are diminished, as we saw last summer, it can impact both central station electricity generation and the availability and quality of water for manufacturing. What are the process industries doing to understand their uses, risk, and the technology advances in cooling technologies? How are regional authorities and businesses working to manage water resources so that competing interests can be balanced? What tools are available to industry to analyze this risk and develop management plans and projects?
