Documentation

Requirements to visit or travel within Canada have changed within the last few years. We encourage all attendees to visit the Canadian Immigration Website to ensure correct documentation is in place prior to traveling to the Symposium.

U.S. Citizens

All U.S. Citizens will be required to show their passport when passing through the Border. U.S. Citizens are exempt from the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) requirement.

Non-U.S. Citizens

Citizens of certain countries will need to apply for a Visa in order to enter Canada. In addition, some visa-exempt countries may still need to apply for Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Learn more

If you require a visa to attend the Symposium, please contact AIChE Programming at programming@aiche.org to obtain a personalized visa letter for your application. Please provide the following information in your email:

  1. Full Name
  2. Affiliation
  3. Email
  4. Required Information for the letter (such as passport number, address, etc).

Please note that we are unable to directly contact embassies or various officials on behalf of the attendee.

By Plane

There are a few different options to getting to the Toronto area by plane. You can find more information about airlines, available transportation, etc. at their respective websites.

By Car

The Hyatt Regency Toronto recommends the following directions for getting to the hotel.

From the North
Travel south on Highway 427 to the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way). Take the QEW east, which turns into the Gardiner Expressway. Travel into downtown and take the Spadina exit north. Travel north to Adelaide Street and turn right. Follow Adelaide 3 blocks east to Widmer Street and turn right. The hotel entrance is located on the right side, just before King Street.

From the South (Niagara Falls)
Take the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) east, which turns into the Gardiner Expressway. Travel into downtown and take the Spadina exit north. Travel north to Adelaide Street and turn right. Follow Adelaide 3 blocks east to Widmer Street and turn right. The hotel entrance is located on the right side, just before King Street.

From the East (Kingston / Oshawa)
Follow Highway 401 westbound to the Don Valley Parkway (DVP). Take the DVP Gardiner Expressway into downtown. Take the Spadina exit north and travel north to Adelaide Street. Turn right on Adelaide and follow 3 blocks east to Widmer Street and turn right. The hotel entrance is located on the right side, just before King Street.

From the West (Windsor / London)
Follow the 401 eastbound to Highway 427. Travel south on Highway 427 to the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way). Take the QEW east, which turns into the Gardiner Expressway. Travel into downtown and take the Spadina exit north. Travel north to Adelaide Street and turn right. Follow Adelaide 3 blocks east to Widmer Street and turn right. The hotel entrance is located on the right side, just before King Street.

Public Transportation

The St. Andrew subway station is approximately a 3-minute walk from the hotel and streetcar access is right at the front door.
