Decentralised Production Realised using Continuous Manufacturing - Harnessing the Power of Flow Chemistry from Lab to Production

Authors

Wiles, C. - Presenter, University of Hull
Small-footprint, flexible, modular reaction units bring an opportunity to disrupt conventional supply chains via strategies such as point of use production & just in time manufacturing. In addition, these small, turn-key units lend themselves to replication to scale output & since the location of such units does not need to be fixed, continuous manufacturing enables rapid deployment of manufacturing capabilities to new locations – particularly to those without conventional chemical manufacturing infrastructure. Case studies will be used to highlight the replication of existing continuous manufacturing units, enabling the deployment of additional production capability in the UK, USA, France & Belgium.
