(58am) Industrial-Academic Initiatives, Aligning Needs and Building Community

Authors

Jensen, C. - Presenter, Colorado School of Mines
AIChE industrial-academic initiatives are in need of actionable outcomes that support collaborative success and developing professional researcher goals. Given that the Spring AIChE meeting and Global Conference of Process Safety is the setting for industrial practice, it is the natural setting for academics to participate in towards building relationships inline with such initiatives. This poster shares research experiences and curriculum development aligned with calls from students, industry needs, and global policy over the last decade. Focus of the poster is placed on energy, natural gas technology-education, international development, internet of things, informatics, device development (with a focus on sensors), and green chemistry-engineering. The presenter encourages potential industrial partners to stop by in the hopes to establish a dialogue of how to build relationships that support industrial needs and researcher development. Further, AIChE leaders interested in championing and spotlighting this aspect of the Chemical Engineering community are also welcomed to stop by.
