This session will deal with the practical aspects of column entry safety. It is assumed that training has been completed. Topics will include what PPE should be worn and the quality of PPE. This topic will be presented from an engineers perspective.

Topics should include;

PPE

Gas Monitoring and air quality

Respirators

Harnesses, extraction and Life Lines

Climbing inside towers and fall protection

Ear Protection and noises from air movers and air guns

Common hazards (sharp parts, hoses, NORM, knee pads etc)

Inspection - without slowing down the work
