Separation processes play crucial roles in any chemical industries. Development of novel separation processes is essential for developing new process technologies as well as for making existing process technologies competitive. This session focuses on examples where important research have been conducted using pilot plants for identification of challenges involved in scale-up and generation of data required for successful commercialization of separation processes. In addition, pilot plant studies carried out aiming to trouble-shoot any separation problems in commercial units will also be included in this session.
