Introductory Remarks

When the practicing engineer has to cope with two phase feeding lines, either in designing new installations or reengineering old ones, most of the time only incomplete or inaccurate information is available to justify the cost of performing a transient simulation analysis to assure a stable operation of the equipment been fed. The verification that the feeding line follows some simple and practical principles greatly minimizes the risk of ending with a pipe layout that generates additional flow instabilities to those already naturally occurring in the process.
