(115b) Risk Management Program (RMP) for Chemical Industry in Korea

Nevertheless, Korea Government has endeavored for public safety against chemical accidents in the chemical industry, Chemical accidents in Korea continues to rise. KOREA government came to implement the Risk Management Program of Chemicals Control Act in 2014. The Risk Management Program is to minimize damage to local communities and the environment by making a quick response to a chemical accident. The Risk Management Plan consists of three components: accident prevention program, off-site consequence analysis, and emergency response program. While South Korea’s chemical accident management systems have so far been focused on accident prevention within establishments, the Risk Management Plan extends the focus to the community and the surrounding environment, and stresses not only prevention but also preparation and response against accidents. This presentation will provide on Risk management program in detail for chemical industry in Korea. The presentation will be very useful and practical for the safety managers in chemical companies
