Advances in modelling for SMART manufacturing

SMART manufacturing principles can be improved upon in many cases with the help of modelling. The wider and more dynamic scope of SMART manufacturing in contrast to standard manufacturing principles requires models that can cover different levels of detail over larger and more interconnected systems for many different applications. Recent modelling and computational advances are making it possible to consider these kind of challenges in a reasonable amount of time.
