To effectively utilize lignin for valuable chemical feedstocks, it is imperative to develop an efficient and environmentally pathways to depolymerize lignin. One-step depolymeriaztion of lignin in supercritical condition with the help of catalysts consider as one promising method for lignin valorization, and many catalysts had been tested such as NaOH, nickel-based catalysts, MoO3/SiO2, and CuMgAlOx. Here, we report the use of zeolites to depolymerize lignin depolymerization in supercritical ethanol. At the presence of zeolite, the lignin conversion gets improved with increased aromatic products, particularly those high-value phenols such as guaiacol and alkanesubstituted guaiacols.
