In some locations currently being considered for LNG projects, relatively low cost electricity from the local power grid may be available. For these facilities, refrigeration compressors driven by electric motors drawing power from the grid may be attractive.  The fuel requirements for these plants will be relatively low since there will be no need for fuel to drive refrigeration compressors or to generate electricity.  This presentation will describe several natural gas liquefaction process configurations that are particularly amenable to LNG facilities without substantial fuel requirement.  The applicability of the process configurations based on specific project requirements will also be discussed.
