In the operation of a chemical or petrochemical plant there are several possibilities of operational and environmental emergencies due to fugitive emissions are not detected in the plant. In some cases, these emergencies can cause irreversible damage to the environment and equipment operation. Thus, this presentation demonstrates the application of mass spectrometry in strategic actions aimed at detection and faster identification and mitigation of fugitive emissions.
