Many companies, agencies, and organizations today focus on sustainable development, environmental footprinting, and “green” technologies. This session invites papers that identify, describe or address loss prevention issues in green technologies (such as alternative energy, biofuels, energy conservation, etc.), or that discuss safety benefits or consequences of sustainability or environmental efforts and projects. An example of the latter is the potential for “green” roofs causing structural overloading without special design attention.
