Combustible Dust Hazards
Tuesday, March 23, 2010 - 8:00am to 8:30am
As a result of several combustible dust explosions in the past decade, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) initiated a Combustible Dust National Emphasis Program in October 2007. In light of the Sugar Dust explosion in February 2008, the Combustible Dust NEP was expanded in March 2008, to focus on industries with more frequent and high consequence dust incidents. During this session, the preliminary findings from the NEP will be presented. Industries handling combustible dusts may utilize the information from these findings in correcting any possible hazards at their facilities.
