(106c) Benchmarking Sustainability for the Chemical Industry: The AIChE Sustainability Index

The AIChE Sustainability Index is meant to fill a gap in the marketplace and provide a sustainability snapshot of both the chemical processing industry and where individual companies fall within. It relies heavily on quantitative performance indicators, using 7 factors that represent the sustainability aspects of a company. Data is derived from publicly available data only. The scoring follows a robust methodology designed to account for subjectivity in a transparent manner, allowing companies to see where they rate relative to other companies and thereby offers opportunities for management improvement in sustainability.
