In today’s competitive environment, development and implementation of new refining technology can differentiate one refining company from another. Whether in processing non-traditional crudes such as oil/tar sands or high sulfur crudes, extracting more from the bottom of the barrel, complying with increasingly stringent environmental regulations, or reducing overall energy consumption, novel technology can make the difference. Presentations are sought on a range of topics such as: new equipment(for reactors, feed systems, distillation columns, etc.), new process technology and catalyst systems, novel reactor designs, and new separation system techniques(such as membranes, novel extraction solvents, advances in distillation, etc.) These are just a few examples. While other sessions are sure to highlight new technological advances in their particular areas, the goal of this session is to provide a forum for ‘leading edge’ technology that is a step change from conventional approaches. Submissions are sought from companies that implement, design, or market novel technology in the refining industry.
