The thermochemical conversion of oils and bitumen were investigated in a fluidized bed pyrolyzer and a catalytic pyrolyzer. The fluidized bed pyrolyzer consisted of a MFC (MGF-Series, Rich Field), a gas pre-heater, a fluidized bed reactor (I.D. 0.076m and 0.8m high), a screw feeder, a quencher and an electrostatic precipitator. In the catalyst reactor, MMZ ZSM-5, ZSM-5, MESO C12, MCM-41 catalysts were used. At the temperature conditions of 400-550°C and Uo/Umf of 3.0, maximum oil yield was 70%. Oil composition over C20 is remained in the fluidized bed pyrolyzer. Also oil content from C5 to C9 is 0.6-9.5%. However oil content from C5 to C9 is 14-49% at the catalytic pyrolysis and oil content over C20 was not detected over 500oC.
