Ms. Mansfield began work at Baker Engineering and Risk Consultants, Inc. (BakerRisk) in June 2007. For the past year at SBM-Atlantia, she was the Lead Safety and Loss Prevention Engineer on the Chevron Frade FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) and on the Murphy Thunderhawk Semi-submersible. Her duties as Lead Engineer included Interpretation of client, Classification Society, and regulatory requirements, design of firewater, foam and special extinguishing systems, design of life saving equipment and systems, technical evaluation of vendor supplied equipment for firefighting and life-saving systems, liaise with external Safety Consultants. In addition to her loss prevention duties, Ms. Mansfield provided specialized HSE Engineering support to Project Development and Engineering using the most appropriate qualitative and quantitative techniques. She was also responsible for implementation of human factors engineering requirements as specified by client. Interface with all discipline engineers to ensure their drawings, specifications, and vendor supplied equipment adhere to human factors engineering requirements. As Discipline Lead Engineer, Ms. Mansfield was responsible for the discipline manhour budget, productivity, and progress.
Prior to joining SBM-Atlantia, Ms. Mansfield was a Field Surveyor with the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). As a Field Surveyor, she performed various class and statutory surveys onboard merchant ships, barges, and tugboats. Surveys included inspection of the vessel's structural integrity, inspection of required life-saving and fire-fighting appliances for condition and proper function, and inspection of the machinery and installed protective devices for safe operation. While vessels were in the shipyard, Ms. Mansfield was responsible for ensuring the shipyard was carrying out repairs according to ABS's rules. Additionally, she performed inspections at manufacturing and repair facilities to make certain machinery components were being manufactured or repaired to ABS's rules.
