An old definition of a chemical engineer is one who can speak of engineering in front of a chemist, and of chemistry in front of and engineer. This implies that the three disciplines do not speak a common language. This paper will propose methods to bridge the perceived communication gap between chemists, chemical engineers and engineers of other disciplines. The chemical engineer will be the medium, and the focal point, that helps to convert the chemist's bright idea into workable designs that other engineering disciplines, can turn into viable economic enterprise with a social conscious. It will also present success stories that show how communication can cross not just discipline boundaries, but language, country and time barriers.
