10th Topical Conference on Refinery Processing
Control and Optimization Tutorial and Advances
Tuesday, April 24, 2007 - 3:20pm to 4:00pm
Oil fractionation is a very common separation process in all refineries around the world. From atmospheric and vacuum crude towers at the front end to the FCC, Coker and Hyrdocracker main fractionators at the back, these processes often share similar equipment, operating objectives and control strategies. This session will review common fractionation processes, their similarities and differences. Typical control objectives, regulatory and advanced control strategies will be discussed as well as how to find good opportunities for improvement.
