Rentech opened a new era by taking a major step on the way to the production of fuels and chemicals from coal, natural gas, petroleum coke and even bio-feedstocks. There has been a tremendous effort to scale up and commercialize Rentech's Fischer-Tropsch process. A Process Development Unit of 10 bpd is being built in Colorado. The nation's first commercial Coal-to-Liquids plant is being designed for Rentech Energy Midwest facility in East Dubuque. This paper will review the ongoing work at Rentech's R&D site and plans for the future.
