(115b) Open Innovation: a Structured Approach to Managing Technology Alliances

The topic of technology alliances is not new to chemical industry. However in the light of knowledge economy, alliances assume a more dynamic form. It is no more about managing a project. This paper shall focus upon the differences between conventional technology alliance management (i.e. project management) and the new approach (i.e. technology management). Some of the challenges faced while taking a structured approach and establishing an open innovation protocol are discussed. Few case studies shall be discussed.
