Research Interests:

My main research interests are in the process control and improvement. It is important to understand the involved physical and chemical mechanisms in order to enhance the transformation and transport phenomena in chemical process. Characterization techniques for monitoring, understanding and improving materials functionalities in chemical processes are, thus, instrumental. Research activities that can help solve the actual needs in sustainable development, energy efficiency and availability worldwide, as well as environmental processes are the cornerstone of the work I wish to perform.

My research activities will be focused on Process Intensification , which could be developed for both chemical and pharmaceutical applications, but for a short term program will mainly be directed on equipement enhancement and control for energy-efficient applications.

Teaching Interests:

I started my teaching experience by sharing my research projects during oral communication with colleagues. The more questions I received the more details I wanted to provide. So I went from helping interns and graduate students understand and define their project to teaching courses.

Up to now, I have been lecturer in two universities, for different courses: unit operation laboratory, elements of chemical reaction engineering, pharmaceutical engineering and design, and formulation of pharmaceutical products.

I studied in three different countries with professors from different backgrounds, which provides me with strong communication and social abilities. I believe that the way in which concepts are taught to students is as important as the way we evaluate their learning. This goes from preparing courses to teaching lessons, developing exercises or practical laboratory and providing and evaluating assignments.
