Advances in Gas-to-Liquid Solid-liquid separation systems
The advances in the design and operation of the solid liquid separation (SLS) systems for a conventional GTL plant has been investigated. The focus is more on the GTL technologies with the slurry type FT reactors, since these technologies encounter more challenging catalyst/wax separation issues than the fixed bed FT reactor types. The review covers advances in solid-liquid separation systems, which are internal and external to the FT reactors. The selection and efficacies of various filter elements and their features when used for FT catalyst/wax separation are highlighted. Operational modes of the filters and potential operation issues are also reviewed. The use of settlers and other solid-liquid separation systems is also discussed.
