Ammonia is an important product for the chemical industry (apart from nitrogen fertilizers applications) that is produced from no renewable products. Pig and cow slurry contain relevant concentration of ammonia nitrogen which volatization to the atmosphere must be avoided. In this work we explain the performance of a system to recover ammonia from pig slurry, called “Ammoneva System”, based on the evaporation and absorption of the ammonia, that can be implemented in all sort of livestock facility (slurry either digested or not), obtaining high grade ammonium and protecting environment.
