(533b) System Model for Semi-Continuous Wet Granulation Pharmaceutical Tablet Manufacturing Process

In this presentation, system model is presented for GSK’s semi-continuous wet granulation tablet manufacturing process. The model combines empirical and mechanistic understanding of all continuous unit operations, with focus on Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) content (API weight/overall weight %). Special attention is given to quantifying impacts process parameters and disturbances have on API content, at the unit operation where process turns into batch.
