(174aj) Continuous Flow Synthesis of Energetic Materials

Conventional manufacturing of energetic materials is dominated by the use of batch and semi-batch reactors. These methods offer flexibility at the cost of safety, reproducibility and potentially higher cost products. Continuous processing offers superior safety, ease of scale-up, lower cost and access to new materials. This poster will highlight the use of process analytical technology (PAT), continuous flow tools and reaction engineering principles to develop continuous flow synthesis of compounds relevant to the energetics community.
