(131g) Learning from Field Inspection of Towers

Field inspection of towers is more than just making sure equipment is installed according to specification drawings. Equipment inspection also helps educate starting engineers. It also shows how equipment fails in the field and identifies possible problems not caught at the design stage. Examples are shown how equipment inspection has identified problems and what types of design, fabrication, and installation errors can make it all the way to a tower that’s supposed to be ready to start up.
