The Engineering and Industrial world are lagging manufacturing industries to truly embrace digitalization. AVEVA is accelerating the digital transformation journey of their customers and disrupting their current business processes to add value opportunities to their businesses. A common disruptive technology is the concept of Digital Twin. Through our work with our customers, we realize that believe to define a Digital Twin for the industrials we should draw a parallel to a the actual Human Twin. A twin has a shape, behavior, senses and needs to work for 100 years. The same is true for the digital twin of an industrial asset whether that is a an offshore platform, a refinery, a power generator or a ship. The Digital Twin of a plant is defined by engineering data (digital shape), engineering models (digital behavior), real-time series data (digital senses) and finally maintenance data (digital health). Once this data is connected just like a human it is can be stored in memory (historian), analyzed to make the right decisions (predictive analytics), learns from its mistakes (machine learning), asks questions (cognitive thinking) to make it more efficient (APC, real-time optimization), be mobile (smart devices) and finally visualize data in context (3D, X Reality etc...). AVEVA will present how it is connecting engineering, maintenance and operations data, people and business processes to bring the digital twin out of the realm of a Cliché.
