(89d) The Value of Modeling in Cell Mechanics

Cell mechanics is a sub-field of cell biology that seeks to explain how the interplay of mechanical forces with biomolecular processes enables cellular functions. In this talk, I will discuss examples from our research on cellular force generation. I will emphasize how modeling and simulation has helped us tackle some important questions in the field.
