(481a) A Tribute to Jack Zakin: A Brief Introduction

Dr. Zakin was a cornerstone of the Chemical Engineering Department at Ohio State for the last four decades. During his 17-year service as a Chair, building on the student-centered legacy he inherited from Joseph Koffolt, he created a collegial culture in the department that was inclusive and forward looking, a culture that valued teaching and research equally, a culture that prevails to this day. After he retired, Dr. Zakin maintained his activities (teaching, research and service) without missing a beat. And he never stopped caring for the department. Some highlights of his legacy at Ohio State will be shared.
