(479c) The Art of Communication: Ways to Incorporate Active Learning to Develop Student Communication

Communication is a skill that students are expected to have upon graduation, however there are usually minimal opportunities for students to practice delivering oral presentations and writing technical reports. These skills are often assessed at the culmination of capstone projects and the conclusion of an experiment for unit operations, with minimal preparation. In this presentation there will be discussion of think-pair-share and a jigsaw activity that help students with creating effective PowerPoint presentations and improve student technical writing skills.
