In this study the properties of graphene oxide (GO) membranes for membrane distillation (MD) are characterized based on parameters such as pH, GO thickness, and drying method. The performance of the MD process for desalination of brackish water is evaluated by taking into consideration these membrane parameters. The impact of the membrane properties on the degree of scaling in the MD process is also evaluated. GO is an interesting material that recently has been proposed as a component for membrane formation and resilience. This study will contribute to understand the contribution of this unique material.
