This paper presents results of the study carried out in experimental large scale distillation column with diameter of 1.9m. Experiments were performed on the structured packing Mellapak 750.Y which is series of 25 elements with total height of 5.2m. The working fluid is HCFC225cb (1,3-dichloro-1,1,2,2,3-pentafluoropropane) which has low surface tension and viscosity. And the gas phase was nitrogen containing saturated HCFC225cb. The column has 33 compartments at the bottom which enable measurement of local liquid distribution profiles.

Measuring liquid distribution profile on bottom of cross-sectional area in column with wide range of gas and liquid condition, we observed the results that deviation of liquid distribution remained constant without maldistribution in the region below loading point. While in the region above loading point, steep increase of deviation of liquid distribution was observed.
