There are many important skills and experiences imparted through working on international humanitarian engineering projects. Understanding your customer, dealing with other cultures, safety, dealing with uncertainty, and thinking on your feet are a few of them. Students can benefit greatly from taking on this kind of work either in implementing full projects or doing the conceptual work in a capstone design class.
