(18a) Bioinspired Membranes for CO2 Capture

Authors

Jiang, Z. - Presenter, Tianjin University
Learning from the compositions, structures, formations and functions of natural materials, a myriad of bioinspired membranes have been prepared for efficient CO2 separation. In this presentation, the following issues and examples will be covered.

Using cell, cell membrane (including aquaporin), marine mussel, carbonic anhydrase and as representative prototypes;

Using biomineralization, bioadhesion, surface segregation as major tools;

Using microcapsules and salts to tune the water environment;

Using GO and functional crosslinker to construct CO2 transport highways.
