In the post COP21 era, environmental sustainability issues are becoming more and more prevalent in systems analysis, design and operations. This presentation will introduce the basic concepts and methods for environmental life cycle analysis and sustainability optimization for process and energy systems. Applications to perovskite photovoltaics, shale gas and biofuels will be presented.
