During a life cycle of gas or oil well exploration, components of fluids and operating condition of the wells constantly changes. For this reason, the operating condition and control strategy of the topside process at either FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) or fixed platform needs to be optimized in real-time. In this study, a number of cases that might happen during the life cycle of gas well were considered for the design of top side process. In particular, dynamic simulation was adopted to consider equipment sizing and control logics. As a result, we were able to reduce unnecessary margin for the design of topside process and increase the efficiency of the process operation.

This research was funded by Ministry of Trade “Development of integrated Interactive Model for Subsea and Topside System to Evaluate the Process Design of Offshore Platform” (project No. 10060099)
