This presentation will speak about how data is integrated with interdisciplinary projects addressing environmental sustainability, health and well-being drawing from work of the NSF-funded Sustainability Research Network: Integrated Urban Infrastructure Solutions for Environmentally Sustainable, Healthy, and Livable Cities. Integration of data with interdisciplinary sustainability projects will be illustrated through two example projects addressing the food-energy-water nexus. Examples will demonstrate the need for frameworks to organize data, the quantity and diversity of data needed for sustainability and systems analysis, partnerships for data collection, and application to policy.
