AIChE has published a Body of Knowledge (BOK) that encompasses the range of skills, knowledge, and abilities required of a chemical engineer professional. This session will describe what the BOK is and why it was developed. We will explore the Topics that are addressed, and why some others are not. Who and how can the BOK be used and how will treatment vary based on the viewpoint of the user. Finally we will explore how the BOK serves to define the Chemical Engineer separate from other engineering professionals, and how the BOK relates to licensure, certification and other competency metrics. This session will include presentations and an open discussion.
