Method:

In this paper the lithium tetra borate (LTB) was produced by water/solution assisted synthesis method. After the synthesis, metals (doping with Copper (Cu) and Silver (Ag)) were doped into lithium tetra borate (Li2B4O7) to enhance its thermo luminescent properties. The heating temperature was 750°C for 2 hr as well as 150°C for 1hr the sample produced by water solution method with 0.1% Cu and 0.1% Ag. The pellets were irradiating by the X-ray.

Result:

The identification and characteristics of undoped and doped Li2B4O7 were determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), Photoluminescence (PL), Ultra violet visible spectroscopy (UV Vis). The chemical compositition and its morphologies of the obtained LTB and LTB: Cu, Ag was confirmed by XRD and SEM results. The most intense peak of the XRD pattern of the lithium tetraborate sample is verified by the reference data of the lithium tetra borate with tetragonal structure. The glow curves were obtained by thermo luminescence (TL) reader. The glow curves of the pellets exposed to different doses exhibited a clear response to X-ray irradiation, which is a significant evidence that this material is a candidate for radiation dosimetry. Finally this energy response was also compared with TLD100. The comparison of the results showed that the obtained lithium tetra borate have good thermo luminescence (TL) dose response.
