Over the past 40 years, Genentech scientists and engineers have pioneered and exploited the use of genetic engineering to develop and manufacture recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibody therapeutics that have revolutionized medicine. Building on this legacy of innovation, chemical engineers in the laboratory, in pilot plants, and in manufacturing continue to play a key role in transforming the latest scientific breakthroughs into innovative products for patients.
