(228ah) Advanced Analytical Methods to Assess the Impact of Intercellular Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) on Mammalian Cells Productivity and Product Quality

Reactive oxygen species (ROS), a phrase used to describe a number of reactive molecules and free radicals derived from molecular oxygen, can cause negative impact to cell growth, productivity and product quality. We developed an easy, quick, reliable, near real time, and inexpensive method to detect ROS level in production mammalian cell lines. MitoSOX Red Molecular Probes®, a fluorescent tool, was used to establish an analytical method to measure ROS level in mammalian cells. The implementation of this method and other florescent tools could increase the speed and quality of bioprocess development, improve cell productivity and product quality.
