(82c) Sustainable Solutions Steering at BASF: A Methodology for Product Portfolio Analysis

BASF's Sustainable Solution Steering ^TM is our approach to evaluating our product portfolio in terms of solutions to our customers. We evaluate the entire value chain considering industry- and region- specific views in our markets. In this evaluation we strive to achieve a balance between the three dimensions of sustainability: economy, environment, and society. Finally each solution is assigned to one of four categories (Accelerator, Performer, Transitioner, Challenged) according to its contribution to sustainability allowing us to both improve individual solutions and steer the entire portfolio.
