The authors will present the results of the sixth survey in the resumption of the Chemical Engineering Education Special Projects Committee series of annual surveys on how chemical engineering courses are taught. The surveys are now conducted under the auspices of the Education Division of AIChE. This year’s survey covers transport phenomena and related courses, and seeks to determine what concepts are being taught, who is teaching the course(s), and what tools are being used. Teaching methods and novel approaches are, as always, focus elements of this year’s survey. A comparison with previous studies on the subject will be included.

Following the presentation of the survey results, a panel consisting of selected participants in the survey will lead a discussion with the audience on topics such as a innovative approaches and common issues observed while teaching transport phenomena. Ideas and approaches discussed during the session will be incorporated into the final survey report.
