During the last decade many nanotechnologies have progressed from labs to testing and demonstration. Some of these technologies have excellent potential for bringing sustainable solutions to some of the challenges in the energy, water, energetics, and biomedical fields.  Some of the target applications include fuel-cell performance improvements, Light-weight/long-lasting batteries, corrosion & erosions reduction, bio-hazards detection sensors, and effective/targeted treatment of cancers and cardiac diseases.  The paper will attempt to summarize the current technology readiness status of some of these technologies and provide estimates of efforts required for commercialization.
