Energy Efficiency by Process Intensification

Process Intensification (PI) is an engineering expression that refers to the transformation of a chemical process to make it significantly more efficient in terms of relevant process performance figures. Chemical reaction, separation, energy manipulation, and control, or combination of these processes that may be transformed to achieve drastic improvements in energy efficiency are the focus of this session. Examples include novel technologies for biofuel production, process integration and analysis of chemical looping, heat integration and optimization, and energy efficient refrigeration.
